Richard Reichard dedicated 29 years to Jacksonville Fire Rescue, rising to the rank of Assistant Chief. In that role, he led a team responsible for apparatus and equipment procurement, contract management, compliance oversight, and forecasting departmental needs.
Municipal government
Following his distinguished service with Fire Rescue, Richard Reichard worked as Director of Administrative Services for the City of Jacksonville, retiring on July 3, 2026. He oversaw multiple divisions, including Environmental Quality, Procurement, the Ombudsman’s Office, Solid Waste, 630City, Animal Care, Protective Services, and Fleet Management—managing a motor pool of more than 4,500 vehicles.
Board leadership
Richard Reichard brings extensive experience in leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving. He has served on several boards and committees, including the city’s Budget Review Committee, the Public Nuisance and Abatement Board (PNAB) and the Police and Fire Pension Funds Advisory Board (PFPF). In all his board leadership, Richard applies strategic insight, financial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills to advance organizational missions and long-term sustainability.

Richard Reichard is an active member of Immaculate Conception Church and remains devotedly committed to service at church.
Education
Includes Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, and State of Florida Licensed Paramedic.

Traveling, golfing, hiking, biking, outdoor activities and spending time with family.
